Anopheles (CeZZia) takasagoensis Morishita, a member of the Balabacensis Complex from Taiwan, is removed from synonymy with An. (Ce2.j balabacensis Baisas, elevated to specific status and described in the adult, pupal and larval stages. The bionomics and medical significance of this species are reviewed.
